I was born in São Paulo, Brazil, and spent most of my teenage years drawing weird independent comics and selling them in conventions.
My first art-related job was as a clean-up artist at a traditional animation studio, making part of a movie called Rio 2096. After that, I went to two other studios where I worked on Chico & Rita and Disney’s The Princess and the Frog.
Before that, I worked at a CD rental store!
Fun (?) fact: most jobs from that time credit me as Raquel, my birth name.
Around 2010, between freelance animation and illustration work, I started working on little independent games, because I loved videogames so much. With time, that hobby became my full-time job, and now I can’t enjoy games anymore!
Fun fact: if you google me, for some reason it will tell you I was born in 1992, which is a LIE. I don’t know how to fix it. My year is 1987! I’m OLD!
I currently live in Vancouver, Canada, with my partner Zac and our son Kiki. We’re making a tiny secret game together, with a few other dear people. I take LOTS of breaks from it from time to time, because I can become quite obsessed with work, and have a hard time balancing it with other parts of my life.
If you want to message me, the easiest way is email: amora.bettany at gmail, but please know that I'm not taking commissions at this time.
I’ve also been on Bsky a lot.
Thanks for reading!
